Solar Photovoltaic Plant Talasol

The Talasol photovoltaic solar plant is located in the province of Badajoz, in the region of Extremadura, in southwestern Spain. The plant consists of more than 800,000 photovoltaic solar panels, using high-efficiency monocrystalline technology, distributed over an extensive area of more than 500 hectares.

The plant is accessed via the EX-103 road, which connects nearby towns, facilitating access for both transportation and installation maintenance. This plant was developed by the company Iberdrola, and the construction of the plant was carried out by Acciona, a prominent construction company with experience in renewable energy projects. However, currently in terms of ownership, the plant is in the hands of Ellomay Capital, an international renewable energy investment company, based in Israel. In 2019, Ellomay Capital acquired 100% of the stake in the Talasol photovoltaic plant.

The plant began its commercial operation in 2020 and has an installed capacity of 300 MW, which allows it to generate approximately 540 GWh of energy per year, which is equivalent to generating the electricity consumed by 100,000 homes per year.
