Solar Photovoltaic Plant La Mula
The La Mula solar plant, located in the southeast of the municipality of Mula (Region of Murcia), is the third largest photovoltaic project in Spain in terms of peak installed capacity. It has an installed capacity of almost 500 MWp and occupies more than 1,000 hectares.
Since the beginning of 2025, the Chinese company China Three Gorges (through its Spanish subsidiary) acquired 100% of the plant, reinforcing its commitment to the photovoltaic sector in Spain and Europe.
Access to the facilities is from the regional road RM-C3, and can also be accessed from the road that connects Barqueros with Albudeite from the RM-C1. Additionally, the plant is connected to the electrical system through the El Palmar transmission electrical substation (220/400 kV).
Annually, this installation generates approximately 750,000 MWh (0.75 TWh) of clean energy.
