Solar Photovoltaic Plant Aurea

The Aurea Solar plant is a solar facility located southeast of the municipality of La Roca de la Reina, in Badajoz. It is right next to the Morantes 220 kV transformer substation, which provides output for nearly 500 MWn of photovoltaic power, including the power supplied by Aurea Solar. It is located south of the EX-214 highway and east of the EX-327 highway.

The plant is registered under the company Aurea Solar SLU, whose sole owner is Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) Solar Holding.

Initially, it was commissioned in 2022 with an inverter capacity of 135 MWac, which was expanded in 2024 in number of modules, nominal power and installed capacity, reaching more than 330,000 photovoltaic modules currently with an inverter capacity of 171 MWac.
