Solar Photovoltaic Plant Arnedo I

The Arnedo I solar photovoltaic plant, together with its sister plants Arnedo II, Arnedo III and Arnedo IV, form the Arnedo photovoltaic complex within the municipal district that gives the plant its name. They are located in La Rioja. In total, they comprise more than 30 MWp of installed photovoltaic capacity. It was built in 2008.

The Arnedo complex (Arnedo I, II, III and IV), which covers an extension of seventy hectares in total and houses a total of 172,000 panels. The total investment of the Arnedo project is around 180 million euros.

The plant was built by the Isolux Corsán group, through its subsidiary specialized in solar energy, Grupo T-Solar, which was also its promoter and initial operator. It was processed and put into operation in 2008 through the local promoter company European Sun Park Arnedo, S.L., which was the owner of the installation in its early years. Later, the T-Solar platform was first acquired by the I Squared Capital fund and, in 2021, by Cubico Sustainable Investments, which became the owner of the plant, while operation and maintenance remained in the hands of T-Solar, now integrated into the structure of Cube Renewables Iberia, S.L., which acts as the plant’s operating company in 2025.

The complex is accessed from the LR-134 road, between Calahorra and Arnedo, from which the photovoltaic panels and the complex’s step-up electrical substation can be seen.
